One night, fueled by a dare and more than their share of the brown, Patrick and Aaron picked up their instruments and melded together a concept; traditional Irish Music that could only be created with American-Irish heritage and poitin pumping through the veins. Excited by the concept of performing traditional Irish jigs and reels on electric guitars, they talked Samantha and Mark to join in on violin and upright respectively. The addition of Rich’s sophisticated, intricate, and trance educing drum patterns, dictated the move of Mark to electric bass and a Los Angeles Celtic music phenomenon, Green Ashes, was born.

With a Celtic sonic swagger, Green Ashes has built its reputation the Los Angeles local Irish bars playing curious mix of technically brilliant and yet drunkenly brazen folk rock. Determined to power their audience on Celtic music and drink, Green Ashes at times coaxes, and at others demands their audience into participation and celebration of the American-Irish music heritage.
